Backups and snapshots
How backups and snapshots work across Verone Cloud services.
Backup isn't automatic by default
Unless your contracted plan explicitly includes backup, Verone Cloud does not run automatic backups for VPS, dedicated servers, or similar services. You're responsible for keeping updated, tested copies stored outside the main infrastructure.
Check your plan's offer in the Client Area to see whether backup is included and what the retention policy is.
Plans with backup included
When backup is included:
- frequency and retention follow what's described in the plan's offer;
- restoring can replace your server's current data — use it carefully;
- you remain responsible for keeping an independent copy, since backups can fail due to corruption, unavailability, or misconfiguration.
We recommend periodically testing restoration to confirm your backup is valid.
Snapshots
Snapshots are a fast recovery mechanism, useful before a risky change (e.g. a system upgrade). They don't replace an independent backup and shouldn't be your only data recovery strategy.
Data recovery without backup
Attempts to recover disks or corrupted data without a valid backup are handled on a best-effort basis, may involve extra charges, and success isn't guaranteed.
